Hazardous Materials Technician Level Training Manual. Rated 4 out of 5 by Tross from New owner My new splitter did everything I hoped it would do. I bought it at home depot, all I had to do was add gasoline and pull the starter rope once and split over two cords of oak. It is time for me to change the engine oil and after I read both manuals I discovered that I have to turn the 500 pound Cub Cadet 25 ton log splitter on its side to drain the oil. I really hope that I have read the manuals wrong.
I am sure Cub Cadet would think more of their customers than that. If anyone has a better answer please e-mail me. Honda Ape100 Service Manual. Rated 5 out of 5 by Boneman65 from Excellent and powerful splitter! I've had this splitter going on 2 years and it has never failed to do everything I need it to.
I've split 24' to 26' 18' logs with it. The Honda engine is very easy to start and typically starts with 1-2 pulls. The only thing I feel this splitter needs is a handle on the hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower the splitter from horizontal to vertical so I don't have to use the hydraulic line at the top of the cylinder that may damage it later on. This really should be addressed by the manufacturer! Rated 5 out of 5 by Griffin11 from I have only had this unit for two months but with the number of fallen trees from recent storms, I couldn't continue borrowing a friends. I did review othe reviews concerning the engine and what to look for and what to expect. My fiends is a 20 ton and this is 25.
So I expected if would be able to go thru the same oak logs without any problems. It did as expected. In fact, I went right to the test of finding the worst knots. The torque just kept going thru it and the Honda engine didn't struggle at all. I'm not a mechancial engineer but I beleive that is attributable to the hydraulic pump.
Love the one pull start up, even in the coldest weather we have been experiencing.
